UNESCO YouthMobile

Period: October – December 2015
Location: Cambodia
Partner: UNESCO

This initiative, implemented under the project supported by United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), trains students to learn to code and create mobile applications. Mobile phone coverage is widespread throughout Cambodia including across rural and lowest income beneficiaries, making this channel particularly prone to support the promotion of social impact programs to beneficiaries.

As part of this program, InSTEDD iLab Southeast Asia (iLab SEA) will provide training and coaching on mobile phone application development to a selected group of youth. The training will be based on a technology called Phonegap. The program will incorporate social use cases to enable the direct application of youth participants’ knowledge to the development of social solutions for Cambodia.
