Prototyping for Social Impact

Meeting the health needs of informal workers (IWs) poses complex challenges due to the intersections of the political, economic, and health contexts they live in. There are approximately 1.8 billion informal workers worldwide. This represents 60% of the global workforce and an even greater proportion of the workforce in Sub-Saharan Africa (66%) and Asia (80%). A large proportion of IWs are found in urban areas. Finding innovative solutions to addressing their particular health challenges remains key to improving the healthcare situation globally.
