Malaria Consortium Cambodia

The organization:  The Malaria Consortium is the world’s leading non-profit organisation dedicated to the control of malaria.  They apply their depth of technical expertise and practical experience to develop smarter solutions that improve and save lives. Beyond malaria, the Malaria Consortium works to control childhood illnesses, with a new focus on treating and preventing neglected tropical diseases.

The relationship: We provided technical consulting and developed the Malaria Day Zero Alert System for the Malaria Consortium in Cambodia in order to support their program with The National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM).   We worked  with the largest mobile operator in Cambodia, CamGSM on the Consortium’s behalf to secure a toll free number and non-expiring SIM cards for their health staff to use for the Malaria Day Zero System.

In addition, we supported their malaria drug program with our Resource Map tool to capture malaria drug updates from at risk health centers on a two week cycle.  The goal of monitoring resources so closely is to improve the stock management of malaria treatment drugs. This tool helps the health centers to avoid the possibility of over or under stocking important drug supplies.
